How to Prepare Rooms for Carpet Removal
Clear the route, separate what stays and give the removal crew the measurements that change the job.

Name every bedroom, closet, hall, landing and connected area in the scope. Measure the floor at its widest points and note which rooms share a continuous carpet seam. A written room list keeps an overlooked closet from becoming a day-of decision.
Decide what happens to the furniture
Empty rooms move fastest, but not every property can be cleared in advance. List heavy furniture, built-ins and fragile pieces. Ask whether moving those items belongs in the estimate; do not assume the flooring installer or removal crew will handle them.
Protect the path outside
Walk the route from the farthest room to the loading point. Check doorway width, hallway turns, stairs, pets, gates and parking distance. Remove wall art and small objects that can be bumped by a carpet roll.
Coordinate the next trade
Ask the flooring installer what must happen to tack strips, transitions, staples and adhesive. Carpet removal exposes the subfloor; it does not prove the subfloor is level, dry or ready for the next product.
